Brewers Rain On Nationals Parade, Beat Nationals 4-1

Like the old saying goes, when it rains, it pours. Such was the case for the Washington Nationals tonight against the Milwaukee Brewers.

The Brewers got on the board first with a two run home run from Travis Shaw in the first inning to take a 2-0 lead. The Nationals loaded the bases with nobody out in the bottom of the first, but could only score one run on an Anthony Rendon fielder’s choice. The Brewers then homered in the next two innings off the bats of Erik Kratz and Jesus Aguilar to take a 4-1 lead which would serve as the final score. It was an eventful day for the Nationals, trading away Ryan Madson and Gio Gonzalez, and the end result is a 67-68 record heading into the final month of the season.

Nationals will attempt to even up the series tomorrow as Stephen Strasburg takes the mound at 7:05 PM.
