BREAKING: Maryland Fires Dj Durkin
Maryland has fired head football coach Dj Durkin according to multiple media sources. The news comes one day after Durkin’s reinstatement from paid administrative leave. Since the announcement of that he’d return to the sidelines students, players, and many in the national sports media have voiced their anger and frustration with the administration’s decision. We are waiting on an official statement from the university and will update the story as it develops.
UPDATE: The decision to fire Durkin came from Wallace Loh himself without consulting the board of regents.
The University of Maryland informed the board of regents of its decision but did NOT consult with the board. We’ll soon find out how angry the board is that Loh has defied their recommendation and whether they feel need to take further action
