Bears earn a sweet victory at home, beat Lehigh Valley 4-2

After a short delay of game that didn’t result in a penalty, the Hershey Bears vs. Lehigh Valley Phantoms game began at approximately 7:15 on Saturday night, due to Lehigh’s team arriving late due to traffic and weather conditions. The Bears were outshot 26 to 23, but that didn’t matter because they would pull out a win at home against long time rivals The Lehigh Valley Phantoms. Hershey would score first on the power play with an awesome tip in coming from rookie Lucas Johansen at 7:36 in the first period. Mathias Bau would get an assist along with Riley Barber.

The second period opened up with All Star Chris Bourque finding the net after catching a pass from Wayne Simpson, who would tally his 4th assist on the weekend. Aaron Ness would also gain a point on the play making this is third assist for the 2017-18 season.

Just over two minutes into the third period, Oskar Lindbolm would put Lehigh on the board making the game 2-1. Garrett Mitchell would quickly answer back assisted by Dustin Gazley and John Albert at 3:54 putting the bears ahead by two goals. Less than a minute later Lehigh would gain another goal when Mikhail Vorobyev would bring the game to 3-2.

Luckily, the crowd grew louder, and the Bears responded, when Tyler Graovac scored his second goal in Hershey at 9:51 in the final period after making contact with a fabulous pass from Riley barber. The Bears game out on top to win it at home 4-2.

Hershey will play at home again tomorrow evening against another long time rival The Wilkes Barre-Scranton Penguins when the puck drops at 5 p.m.
