Baltimore Orioles sign former Blue Jay Michael Saunders

The Baltimore Orioles add another LH outfielder to the already packed AAA Norfolk roster, which includes Jaycob Brugman, Alex Presley and DJ Stewart. Now added to the mix is 31-year-old Michael Saunders.

In 23 career games at Camden Yards, Saunders has outstanding numbers hitting .310/.379/.750 (26-for-84) with 10 home runs and 25 RBI. Saunders will start his season late after missing all of spring training.

When asked about the signing Duquette said, “Michael Saunders is a proven hitter who plays OF and can fill in at 1B and DH. His hitting record at Camden Yards is also interesting.” Referring to the OPS record at Camden Yards that Saunders leads all active players with a 1.129 OPS.
