Baltimore Orioles Recall Hunter Harvey

The Baltimore Orioles have called up Hunter Harvey and sent Tanner Scott back to the Norfolk Tides. Harvey is a former first round picked and is ranked as the number four prospect in the Orioles organization.

Scott, another exciting young arm, pitched 1.2 innings in lats night 8-7 win over the New York Yankees. Despite being charged with the tying run in the seventh, Scott put on a strong performance against the heart of the Yankees lineup.

Harvey will provided a much needed fresh arm for the Orioles bullpen after having two extra inning games in New York. Harvey was scheduled to start for the Bowie Baysox tonight, and has yet to pitch this season.

The Orioles have already said they will be limiting Harvey’s workload this year after struggling with injuries for the past three seasons. Baysox manager Gary Kendall has said Harvey will be limited to three innings in his starts “until we’re told differently”.

Harvey’s stay in Baltimore likely will not be a long one, however it will be fun to see the Orioles top young arm if and when he is called upon.
