Baltimore Blast, Among Others, Will Form New League

The PASL announced that The Blast will be joining with PASL teams and former MISL teams to form a new indoor soccer league. The Milwaukee Wave, St. Louis Ambush, Missouri Comets, Rochester Lancers and Syracuse Silver Knights are among the teams from the MISL to join the new league. The new league will have around 20 teams. The PASL has 20 teams at the moment, and it is yet to be decided which teams from the PASL will join the new league. A meeting will be held in Baltimore some time in May to figure out the name for the league, and the structure of the league. The season will have a 20 game season with expanded playoffs.

Right now the blast technically have no players under contract because all of the contracts were tendered under the USL, and since the Blast are no longer part of the USL all the contracts are void. However, the Blast have said they would be honoring all contracts going forward.

The PASL will be hosting the first ever World Cup of Arena Soccer in February 2015, so with the Blast’s addition to the league it gives Baltimore the chance to possibly host a game.
