Angelos and the Orioles vs the city of Angels

As the Baltimore Orioles travel across the country to visit the City of Angels, the baseball world buzzes amidst the news of LA Dodgers SS Cory Seager, needing Tommy-John Surgery. Why do I bring this up and what does it have to do with the Orioles? The organization that does not play the Dodgers this season and has its own laundry list of issues. I’m glad you asked, as I previously mentioned the Orioles are in LA to play the Angels and then Oakland to play the Athletics.
While the Orioles play the Athletics and Angels, Peter Angelos will be a busy man figuring out whether or not to strike a deal with the reeling Dodgers, one that would shake the Orioles fanbase to their very core.
Not only could Peter Angelos get something in return for Manny Machado instead of losing him in the off-season, but Angelos could also strike while the iron is hot as the Dodgers scramble to save their respective season. It may not necessarily be what Oriole fans want but with the season in jeopardy and the future in jeopardy Peter Angelos should weigh his options while the time is right.

As we turn our attention to this week, the reality is Baltimore will not get a wildcard spot this week or anytime soon but the Orioles certainly can add hope to a brutal 8-20 start. May is a new month, the Angels have struggled with the AL East (0-6) albeit against Boston and the NYY, nevertheless they have struggled. The LAA star Shohei Ohtani is expected to be limited this 3 game series because of an injury. The Orioles will get former Angel Mark Trumbo back from the DL.
What Angelos and the front office look into this week will be important in determining the future of the Baltimore Orioles but important in and of itself is whether these Orioles can compete with more potent teams in the LAA (#6 in runs scored in AL) and the Oakland Athletics (#5 in runs scored in AL).
