Alex Cobb to undergo season-ending hip surgery

Baltimore Orioles starting pitcher Alex Cobb, who has not played since April 26, is having season-ending hip surgery.

In three games this season, Cobb has a 0-2 record with a whopping 10.95 ERA.

Now in his second year of his four-year contract, Cobb has a collective ERA of 5.34 over 31 starts since signing with the Orioles during Spring Training of 2018.

Per Roch Kubatko of MASN, Cobb’s surgery will repair an impingement in his right hip, while also possibly going under procedure for his knee.

Hopefully Cobb will return to full health in 2020, but for now the priority is surgery and his rehab that will follow.
