Cobb placed on injured list

Alex Cobb has been placed on the 10-day injured list retroactive April 6, due to a lumbar strain

Cobb last took the mound on April 4, against the Yankees in the team’s home opener. Cobb lasted five and two-thirds innings, allowing two runs off five hits.

Cobb will be reinstated on April 16, marking the second time this season he has had to miss time due to injury.

Cobb was scheduled to pitch against the Oakland Athletics on Wednesday, and it is not yet determined who will replace him as the starter for that game.
