A look at Campanaro

Campanaro was a Ravens fan growing up.

The Baltimore Ravens selected Micheal Campanaro with the 218th pick in the NFL draft.  The Ravens traded a 2015 sixth round pick for a 2014 seventh round pick with the Cleveland Browns.  Campanaro played his college football at Wake Forest.

Campanaro is from Baltimore and was ecstatic that he was drafted by his home town team.  Campanaro tweeted several times about how happy he was that he is coming to play for his home town team.

Campanaro is 5’9” 192 pounds and is considered a slot receiver.  Seventh round picks are not considered locks to make the team but considering that The Ravens traded up to get him I think he is safe.  Campanaro will also have a chance to secure a role on special teams and as a slot receiver, a position that the Ravens lack. Campanaro had 14 touchdown receptions in his career at Wake Forest.

The word on Campanaro is that he is a very tough and gritty player, which the Ravens love.  Campanaro needs to work on his route running but will be able to learn behind Steve Smith.

Campanaro may not be a number one wide receiver but I think be can carve himself a role.  I like this pick by the Ravens.
