The Wizards snap losing streak, beat the Celtics 113-101

It was back and forth in the beginning, but in the third quarter the Washington Wizards took the lead and never looked back for a 12-point win against the Boston Celtics. After losing four straight it was important for the Wizards to look at ending the season on a high note and that exactly what they did. With one game left for the Wizards, they start looking ahead to see who their play off matchup could be.

John Wall reaches a milestone: In an impressive 29 PTS, 12 AST, and 7 REB night for the five-time all-star, he also hit four treys. The big news is that he notched his 5,000 assist tonight becoming just the 10th active player to hit that mark. One bad mark on the night was his five turnovers on the night giving him 23 in the four nights since he came back.

Weak night for the bench: The Wizards bench combined for 36 points tonight not very good. There was some thought that with Thomas Satoransky getting used to the bench we would see an overall improvement for that squad but not tonight. It seems like its every night we are writing about how Kelly Oubre is still in his funk, he went 4-8 for 11 points.

Random notes: Otto Porter got pulled after the first half for tightness in his right leg, which is the side that has bothered him before, but this is not expected to make him lose time… This was a good dress rehearsal for what is becoming a most likely first round playoff matchup… We do not expect John Wall to play tomorrow and expect the starters to get pulled early.

What’s next: The Washington Wizards (43-38) face off against the Orlando Magic (24-57) for the last game of the season. Tipoff is at 8:00PM.
