The Navy Midshipman Football team beat Kansas State 20 to 17 on New Years Eve. Navy won the Autozone Liberty Bowl with the win and finished with a College Football top 25 ranking. Navy was the only Maryland football team to play in a bowl game this year and did the state proud with winning the trophy. Bijan Nichols game winning field goal lifted Navy in the final minute.

Malcolm Perry lead the Midshipman with 28 rushes for 213 yards, he also completed five passes for 57 yards and a touchdown. Wide Receiver CJ Williams also added 34 yards on the ground and completed a huge 41 yard pass.

The Navy defense shutdown the Kansas State offense keeping them to under 200 total yards on offense. Kansas State only had 46 rushing yards and 124 passing yards. Kansas State rushed with seven different players, none of which had over 40 yards.
