#1 Maryland Downs Navy in Season Opener

The defending National Champion Maryland Terrapins opened the season today with a 10-4 win over in-state rival Navy. The Terps are the preseason #1 ranked team in the nation thanks to the high amount of returning star players.

-Goalie Dan Morris was superb on the day, saving 11 of 15 shots on goal.

-Senior Connor Kelley had himself a day, posting 1 goal, 2 assists, and 3 shots on goal out of 8 total shots.

-Two different Maryland players had hat tricks in the game, freshman Bubba Fairman on 5 shots, and senior Tim Rotanz on 4 shots.

-Jared Bernhardt, Logan Wisnauskas, and Ethan Mitzner each contributed 1 goal.

Highlights:

Maryland returns to action this Tuesday at home against Marist at 5pm on Big Ten Network.
